Late Winter Storm

Recently we had a late season cold snap and snow storm. During that same time I was recuperating from the flu so I wasn’t in any shape to get out and take pictures of the snow. But I did take some pictures through our family room windows to document the occasion.

The birds were not very happy with the storm. It was windy and cold and they spent their time trying to stay warm and find the seeds that were being covered by the snow.

After the first day we had about 5 inches of snow covering everything. The only thing that wasn’t covered with snow was the heated birdbath that served as a combination hot tub and source of drinking water.

After the second day of snow everything was thoroughly covered but at least Zippy was able to find his food, which Jody kept thawing out all through the cold spell.

After it was all said and done we ended up with 11 inches of snow and a half inch of ice coating everything.

Now I’m quite ready for Spring 🙂
