Looking for some Fresh Ideas.

“Hey Doug, How can a bird get a break around here? Don’t you have anything better to do than stalking us with your big white beak?”

He’s got a good point, you know. How many pictures of Pine Siskins do I really need to post on this blog. Or more to the point, how many do my faithful readers really want to see?

So that leaves me with the challenge and opportunity to come up with some fresh ideas for photography projects and blog postings.

This doesn’t mean that I’ll stop posting bird photos, of course. I really enjoy bird photography and I’ve still got a lot to learn. It just means I’ll make sure there’s something blog-worthy about the pictures before I post them here.

This still leaves me with the issue of the fresh ideas. Luckily, as you can see from the background color of these pictures, this is Spring and there is a lot of freshness in our back yard.

So one of the projects I plan to do is follow this Clematis bud as it grows up into a beautiful blossom. I’ve got some additional ideas I’ll introduce later.

But I’d love to hear suggestions from you as well. So please feel free to leave a comment if you’ve got some ideas for me.

Cheers – DJD

  1. Excellent pictures! Here are two ideas that I could think of:
    1. Making a time-lapse shot of the bud blossoming into a flower.
    2. Going a step further, and making a multiple-exposure image of the bud/flower in the center and the different birds around it during a given time-frame of, say, a week.
