It’s in the Details

Now that Summer is here the flowers are blooming and the colors of summer are out in force. And even though I really like the overall canopy of green and all the other colors, I have to admit I like the smaller details most of all.

Being an engineer probably has a lot to do with my interest in details. Taking care of details is what I do.

I know first hand what it takes to design complicated electronic devices and systems. And as I admire a new computer or a world wide communications network, I also have to tip my hat to the creative and smart engineers and scientists behind the creation.

So in the same way, I’m constantly in awe of the complexity of design and the beauty demonstrated in the natural world. Examples, like this Nelly Moser Clematis, are all around us. And after admiring it I must acknowledge the creativity and wisdom of the one who created it.

“O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.” – Psalms 104:24
