Putting Up Firewood for the Winter?

The weathermen are all telling us to expect a very cold and stormy winter in our backyard because of a strong La Nina.

As all good Oregonians know, if the winter is going to be cold, you need to put up an extra supply of firewood. But our ever shrinking lot sizes (caused by our urban growth boundaries) pose a bit of a challenge to suburban wood burners. Where do you put all the extra firewood?

Here’s an idea. Why not just lean it up against the house? Although this method has some draw backs, how else are you going to get about 10 chords of wood within easy reach of your front door?

Cheers – DJD
