Star Light, Star Bright …

Yes, Yes, I know that’s not a star shining brightly over our back yard. It’s really Venus of course. But the wonderful fact is that we can actually see stars tonight. It’s been so wet and rainy this Spring that this is a rare and welcome sight indeed.

Everyone around here seems to have been fixated on the weather and for good reason. Thursday’s latest round of rain pushed Portland to the edge of another rain record. Only ten days into the month, Portland has already totaled the second-rainiest June ever recorded, at 3.83 inches, just shy of the all-time record of 4.03 inches. And June 9 was the latest into the calendar year that Portland has failed to reach 80 degrees for the high temperature at least once.

But it looks like we have turned the corner weather wise. The 10 day forecast is all sun. So here’s hoping I’ll be able to get out and take lots of interesting pictures over the next few weeks to share with everyone.

Cheers – DJD

Rain for the week: 3.5 in. Year to date: 49.25 in.
