Not A-band-oned

Our back yard was visited by a half dozen Band-tailed Pigeons today. According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology range map, these birds only visit us during the “Summer (breeding) season”.

I don’t know about Summer but it’s definitely Spring here (you can see the red leaf-buds opening up on our Maple tree in the background). And we’ve seen other evidence that it is bird breeding season. Our trusty deck guardian Zippy hasn’t been seen for over a week so we know what he’s up to.

Cheers – DJD

Rain for the week: 2.75 in. Year to date: 21.75 in.
